Technical Background

Strontium is found in the bones of fish and, more importantly, in aragonite, the mineral secreted by reef-building marine invertebrates such as corals, clams, tube worms, and their respective allies. Overall, strontium accounts for between 0.75 - 1.00% of aragonite’s total mass, and findings suggest that strontium itself induces inorganic precipitation of other ions, creating abiogenic aragonite. Rapid growth rates of corals and other reef-building invertebrates witnessed when strontium is maintained at the natural seawater concentration of approximately 8 ppm suggest this element’s importance in the marine environment. Once the rate of strontium uptake in the aquarium has been determined, the proper dosing rate of this product can be easily calculated. 

 

Instructions and Guidelines

Basic:

Dissolve 1 gram (~¼ teaspoon) of product per 40 US-gallons of aquarium water in 8-fl. oz. of freshwater; add every other day or as needed to maintain the strontium concentration within a range of 8 - 12 ppm. When used in this fashion, 1,200 g treats up to 48,000 US-gallons (181,700 L).


Advanced:

Create a stock solution by dissolving 2 grams (~1 teaspoon) of Strontion-P in 8-fl. oz. of freshwater (preferably purified); each ml of the solution will increase the strontium concentration (”[Sr2+]”) in 1 US-gallon (3.785 L) of water by 0.75 ppm. [Reference: Each g of Strontion-P will increase the [Sr2+] in 1 US-gallon (3.785 L) of water by 143 ppm.] If the initial [Sr2+] in the aquarium is below 412 ppm, add stock sol’n at a maximum rate of 10 ml per 20 US-gallons daily until desired [Sr2+] is attained, then dose daily or weekly as needed (see below). Maintain [Sr2+] within a range of +/-2 ppm. Once desired [Sr2+] has been acquired, measure aquarium's [Sr2+] at the same time each day over a one- to two-week period to determine the daily rate of strontium uptake (i.e. the decrease in strontium). To determine daily dosing rate (preferable to weekly dosing): estimate the volume of water in entire aquarium system (US-gal.); divide the daily decrease in [Sr2+] by 0.75; multiply this number by volume of water in the system to obtain daily ml of stock sol’n required to maintain stable [Sr2+].

EU AREA

  • Your order will be delived as GLS standard. Delivery cost will be seen in products page when you add the products to your shopping card.
  • Our most common delivery times in EU area is 2-4 business days from the ordering, depending on the order. Note! Does not apply to custom-made products. Please note ! If the product is out of stock in our own warehouse, the normal delivery time is usually max 10 business days. 
  • For GLS parcels, the tracking ID is automatically sent via email when the order is left from our logistik center.

OUTSIDE OF EU

  • your order will be delivered as DHL Express. Delivery cost will be seen in products page when you add the products to your shopping card.
  • Our most common delivery times outside of EU areas is 2-4 business days from the ordering, depending on the order. Note! Does not apply to custom-made products. Please note ! If the ordered product is out of stock in our own warehouse, the normal delivery time is usually max 10 business days. 
  • For DHL Express parcels, the tracking ID is automatically sent via email when the is left from our logistik center.
  • On heavy orders additional cost will be applied.

Exchange and return policy in: Finland, Sweden, Estonia

  • You have the right to exchange or return all or part of your order within 14 days of receiving the order. Note! does not apply to ordering and custom made products.
  • The right of return only applies to unused and salable products with product labels in the original packaging.
  • The subscriber is responsible for paying the refund. The return fee in 5,90€.

Unclaimed shipment

  • We deliver all orders by post. Posti stores packages for 7 days at all its pick-up points. If the package is not picked up during this time, it will be returned to the sender. An unclaimed shipment is not a return under the Consumer Protection Act. In these cases, we will automatically charge 15€ for postage and handling in connection with the refund.

Return address:

  • The return address varies depending on the product to be returned, please contact us before returning  info@aqnomad.fi
  • We do not accept returns more than 14 days after delivery. Once the refund is accepted, the money will be refunded directly to your account upon receipt and processing of the refund.

Problem situations during transport and for defective products:

  • If the product has been lost during transport, damaged or the wrong product has been deliveded to the customer, the customer must report the error immediately to info@aqnomad.fi
  • Notification of incorrect delivery or defective product must be made within 14 days of receipt of the product. If the package is damaged in the mail, a complaint must be made about the product to the post office immediately.
